Eye of the Storm

He soon realized that loving her was a

Little bit like loving a hurricane or a tornado

She was a force of nature

Changeable, unpredictable

Given to abruptly changing paths

She could be fierce and full of fury

Sometimes dissipating quickly

Sometimes obliterating

All obstacles in her path

Sometimes the winds blew gently

Ruffling his hair

Catching his attention

Drawing him in

At other times

He could get caught

In a maelstrom of her intensity

Both thrilling and terrifying

Sometimes he found himself

In the calm at the eye of

Her storm

The hidden core

Where her heart lived

Where she could be still

Peaceful

At least for precious moments

Before the storm raged on
