In light of the upcoming inauguration, it felt important to reblog this. As someone else said to me today, it is important for all of us to be breathing fire.
Social Media has been buzzing this morning with the reveal of Donald Trump’s misogynistic and vulgar comments about women in 2005. They are appalling, but for most women, negotiating these types of attitudes and behaviors is business as usual.

It surprises me as it reads as if we just woke up and realized women were oppressed but as you say, that’s been an old story. I totally agree w/this.

I think it really snapped into focus for me in October that good men in my life literally had no clue. And I never talked about it myself– just took it as a given
