My words
My blood
My bones
My tears
My pain
My joy
My heart
My soul
You may steal
My words
Borrow
My sentences
Appropriate
My verse
But my
Fingerprints
Have marked them
They are woven
Like strands of my DNA
The essence of who I am
Rings true
You will not
Steal my voice
You shall not
Steal my truth
Forces far more powerful
Far more fierce
Than you
Have tried to silence me
And still I stand

Not brave or reckless … reads as the essence of you …

I wrote this for Nicole but it ended up coming from a very deep place in me. My own fight song maybe. . .

Yes … I could see this began with Nicole then released an inner you …

The more life throws us into the pits, the more powerful we rise every time we get out, giving us emotions only we can encapsulate with such depth and realism. Untainted spirits can only hope to escape the hollowness of words their hearts can never think of.
