Rebel Yell

I have lived

Too many years

In eloquent silence

Playing something into

For the

Of others’

Gold-leafed memories

Denying myself

Into the house

Of mercy

The cost

Nothing less

Than pieces of

My soul

I say

No more

This is my call

To arms

I will etch truth

In black ink

And blood

Carry strength

On my skin

Declare war

On the former rules

Of engagement

From my depths

Release the

Rebel yell

    1. Thank you my friend. The funny part of the story is that I had all these random words and phrases written down that I wanted to remember for future poems and I suddenly thought this morning, “Well, could they work together in one poem?” Thought it came together well

  1. And I will stand by you and Shout Shout letting it all out… sorry had to throw in an 80s music reference to show full solidarity! In spite the cheese of that response, another amazing piece my friend!
