last night
i was the moon
full
ripe
hung on an indigo canvas
painted with thousands of twinkling lights
my silver mercury glow
reflected in
still waters
meandering rivers
crashing waves
and your sea glass eyes
full of awe
full of wonder
last night
i was the moon

I agree with Maria about the poem! 🙂
Thank you, Ms Christine Ray, for sharing your connections with the moon via your lovely poem. I would like to reciprocate with mine at https://soundeagle.wordpress.com/2012/10/02/if-my-name-were-moon-tonight/

And there, perhaps, is why the ancients always saw the moon as a goddess.

I give them plenty of other fine writers to enjoy, so I think they can have sufficient variety.

I loved this from the title onward. It seems I have a thing for word meagre, feeling rich verse … and you absolutely excel at this genre. 🙂
