who am I
without my losses
without my ghosts
to haunt the hours?
grief has carved me
sharply
since girlhood
with rasps
and chisels
unforgiving hammers
removing softness
all excess marble
until a woman
of alabaster
hollowed
shadowed
is all that
remains

Thank you M.A. I was ready a manuscript about loss and it just poured out.
