The Little Stranger II – GEORGIANN CARLSON

the little stranger

stood at the front door

and held out his small fists

“CHOOSE” he said

it would have been kinder

to tell the man standing in the doorway

that he was choosing between life and death

but since he quickly tapped the boy’s right hand

and was already sprawled dead on the porch

it probably didn’t matter

one way or the other

I’m an artist, a writer, a vegetarian, an animal rights activist, and quite a few other things as well. I love books, cats, philosophy, good conversation, Chicago and the arts. So my blog is full of bits and pieces but it’s the bits and pieces that make life interesting to me. You can read more of my writing at Rethinking Life
