they always give you a choice
each one
more beautiful
than the other
you hear them calling to you
and your body reacts
your heart speeds up
it’s hard to catch your breath
you find yourself moving toward her
it’s the one in front
the one with the long red hair
she’s inside your head
you can practically taste her lips
you can’t look away
the others smile
and disappear into the lake
she turns toward you
arms outstretched
you fight your way through the water
you can’t get to her fast enough
your need to touch her is so great
and then you’re in her powerful embrace
and she’s everything you though she would be
and more
you don’t mind being dragged down
you don’t struggle
as the water begins to fill your lungs
you just hold on to her
your Demon Lover
and as your life begins to ebb
you feel no regret
