October and November leaves are all
Crisp orange and yellow records of
The past semester where the crisp crackles of
People’s footsteps upon them announce the
Passage of one and all from freshman
To sophomore or junior to senior
It all starts in the ninth month a new birth
Leaves crackle the way infants cry
Maybe each autumn should have its own name
So Fall, Leaves, Fall
