Darcy burst through the front door, shouting, “ELIZABETH! WHERE ARE YOU?”
“I’m standing right behind you,” she laughed. “Why are you yelling?”
“Where are the kids?”
“Upstairs playing,” said Elizabeth. “How was the demonstration?”
“One of your sisters held a piece of mistletoe over Diane’s head and…”
“Well, it is Christmas time, after all. Tis the season and all that.”
“They arrested her for indecent exposure.”
“It’s the middle of winter, what could she possibly expose?”
“Her pride.”
Elizabeth nodded. “Prejudice, rearing its ugly head once again”
“Wherever there’s pride, there’s prejudice,” sighed Darcy, dropping her jacket to the floor. “The lawyer’s on her way.”

I’m an artist, a writer, a vegetarian, an animal rights activist, and quite a few other things as well. I love books, cats, philosophy, good conversation, Chicago and the arts. So my blog is full of bits and pieces but it’s the bits and pieces that make life interesting to me. You can read more of my writing at Rethinking Life
