life is about loss
some people would disagree
and that’s okay
their lack of belief
doesn’t change the fact
that loss is what life is about
loss of innocence
youth
those you love
loss of pretty much everything
day by day
life nibbles away at us
always taking something
like an insatiable creature
who can never get enough
until eventually
there’s nothing left to take
