  3. Submissions and images should be sent by midnight EST on Sunday, May 14, 2017 to
  4. Submissions will be judged by me and at least one guest judge.  If you are interested in being a guest judge for this challenge, let me know!)
  5. The winner’s piece will be published on Brave and Reckless and on your own blog. It will also get a plug on Brave and Reckless‘ Twitter and Facebook pages. It would be awesome if everyone who enters reblogs the winning submission to their own blog.

  1. Hello,
First,I would like to thank you for the all good work. It really inspires me,but when I see it relatively new person who is very active, which gives me hope and a goal. So I have a few questions regarding the submissions.
    1. Is more than one submissions allowed?
    2. Is there a prescribed format? Like poetry or essay.
Thanks again. Have a great day.

    1. Submit as many pieces as the prompt inspires. No restrictions on format– I like poetry, prose, fiction, essay, etc– just try to stay between 100 and 750 words so my guest judges and I actually have time to read them.

          1. I realize now it would really be very interesting to see how differently people respond to the prompts. I would like to read all the submissions if possible. I would like to be guest judge too, but I don’t have much experience in poetry or writing itself. So if there’s any other to way to access all the submissions after the competition, it would be nice. Have a great day

          2. I ended up publishing all the submissions on Brave and Reckless last go around because I enjoyed the pieces so much. Depending on how many submissions there are, I would anticipate publishing at least the top five to ten

          3. One of them is mine. I am very happy to say it’s my first attempt at poetry of some sort in English language. It’s all thanks to your prompt. It really sparked a great idea within seconds of I reading it. Fingers crossed for the result.

  2. So, I got inspired. I started with a poem and ended up writing a short story. Too long for your contest, but I couldn’t pare it down anymore. I’ll still send it to you just to thank you for the inspiration. You don’t have to read it. It was a story that was a long time coming and the moon ended up being a perfect metaphor. It ended up being something I’m proud to have in my portfolio. Thanks again.
